Bob Snavely, sometimes known as "Cowboy Bob", grew up in a very small town in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas, on the Mexican Border. From childhood he learned to sing in English but also in Spanish. He taught himself to play the harmonica as a boy and when he plays it now everyone wants to dance. Bob has a great sense of humor and when he entertains the young and the young at heart, he makes it a point to leave each and everyone smiling. His secret is not really a secret. He simply pours love on each and every person. If one of the little ones is shy, he makes it a special point to relate to that child by his smiles and loving kindness. "And that ain't braggin pardner, that's fact". That includes the older folks he meets in the rest homes and senior centers where he often entertains. When Bob was overseas in the United States Marine Corps he had the opportunity to be the battalion bugler. The little ones enjoy hearing the bugle calls that Bob plays on his trumpet. Bob has a "master list" of songs that he can choose from. And almost all of them come out of his own special library ,which is to say, out of the library of his own mind. And what kind of songs are they? They are the songs that have been around for generations and which will be around for decades to come. After the Marine Corps, Bob went to college on the G.I. Bill and became an Elementary School Teacher. He has taught in several states and was recruited by the Monterey Peninsula Schools to come out to California and bring Spanish into the classroom. Bob has a large family and he enjoys sharing his music with them. His grandchildren like dancing to the harmonica and that is what led him to entertaining in the pre-schools and kindergartens. He has worked in many different occupations but he says that this is the one he loves the most. He is looking forward to meeting you soon.
